As a former aircraft inspector for the U.S. Navy, I promise to bring you the same systematic approach to inspecting your property as I did for military aircraft.

The purchase of a home is one of the largest single investments you will make and you should know exactly what to expect in terms of future repairs, improvements and maintenance.

1. A fresh coat of paint could be hiding serious problems.
2. And stains on the ceiling could indicate a chronic roof leakage problem

But it’s our job as the home inspector to interprets these and other clues, and then present you with a professional opinion as to the condition of the property so you can avoid unpleasant surprises afterward.

My name is Gary Sloan, President of Advantage Inspection Peachtree. The home buying process can be confusing and stressful. Not only do you need to consider things such as price and location, you also have to worry about whether the house itself has any problems that could turn into costly surprises down the road.

The inspection process itself typically takes about 3 hours to complete. And this of course may vary, according to the size and condition of the home. We strongly encourage you to accompany us during the inspection… and don’t worry, I’ve brought along extra flash lights so you can accompany me through the tour of the property. This will give you a chance to ask questions and become familiar with the systems of the house.

During the inspection, we’ll inspect all the structural elements and the systems of the home. Items that will typically be included are
:

- Framing (structure)
- Roof and attic
- Foundation
- Walls
- Electrical system
- Plumbing system
- Heating and air conditioning systems
- Kitchen
- Bathrooms

Additional items and systems unique to a particular home can also be inspected too.

When the inspection is complete, we’ll tell you of any problems that were discovered and discuss them with you. We’ll also tell you about any routine maintenance that should be performed, as well as answer any questions you may have. You’ll also receive a full written report of the inspection. Our goal is to discover and inform you of anything we find that might affect your purchase decision.
